The Graduate School of Education has a reputation for international excellence in research and is the only education department in the England to be awarded a 5* rating in the UK 2001 Research Assessment Exercise.
The School has a vibrant and innovative research culture based around an integrative research theme of Culture, Learning, Identity and Organisations (CLIO) .
There is an extensive portfolio of funded research projects, internationally recognised researchers and a flow of national and international visitors.
All academic staff and research students belong to one of seven Research Centres which mentor and support research activity and arrange their own seminars and programmes of events.
